We went to the Osaka-Kansai Expo.　2025.

I went to the expo that opened last week.The venue, Yumeshima, is a landfill in Osaka Bay about 40 minutes from Umeda Station, the center of Osaka. There is a west gate for bus passengers and an east gate for train passengers.　Fortunately, it takes only 30 minutes by train from my home to the East Gate, so I took the train.The area in front of the East Gate is very spacious to accommodate a large number of people arriving by train at once.　However, there is a meandering path made by a fence that allows for a line to be formed (more…)

OBON 2024

Obon is an annual event in Japan that honors the spirits of ancestors.In my region, on August 13, I go to the temple to which my family belongs to say hello and bring the spirits of my ancestors home from the graves.In some areas, it is July. It is said that in areas where sericulture was popular, July was busy, so it became August.My hometown of Gunma Prefecture is an area where sericulture is thriving, so Obon is in August.My family’s grave is in a building on the temple grounds.It is a building that was built in my grandfather’s generation (more…)

ASHIGARA=TOKYO-3

TOKYO-3 is fictitious city name in Neo Genesis Evangelion of TV animation. This TV animation was broadcasting in TV Tokyo station. Tokyo is the actual capital city in Japan (Means of the “actual” is Japan has no laws about Tokyo as capital city. People in Kyoto city say Kyoto is capital also now), but TV Tokyo is calling as Tokyo “LOCAL” TV station. Other TV stations in Tokyo have networks for all over Japan, TV Tokyo does not have enough network. So, it Tokyo LOCAL. Aibou cafe

AIBOU is Japanese popular TV drama series and it continues for 15 years. “AIBOU” is Japanese word and it means “Buddy system” in English. The experienced and young police detectives solve the cases. <Left side man is Katayama Ukyo (actor is Yutaka Mizutani), right is Touru Kai (Hirotaka Narumiya).> The “AIBO Café” is an advertisement event cafeteria and shop in Fujigawa highway service area. Mobile police patlabor

Mobile police patlabor (patrol labor) is Japanese animation in AD. 1990 by Mamoru Oshii. He is famous as a director of GHOST in the SHELL.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDX08ZY8Y48 The story is on little future Japan in 1999. Now we passed that story years. Current year is 2015 and A.D. 2015 is the future that Marty was time traveling from 1985 in Back to the future2 movie. Tablet pc and flat large panel TV are realized, but cars are on road yet.
